To transform this front yard (dominated by outdated paving, overgrown hedges, and hit-and-miss plantings) into a contemporary Australian take on a minimalist Japanese garden, built around a collection of granite block stepping stones.
If you want to build a minimalist garden, you must start with a blank slate and build it up piece by piece. Plants were removed, paving was given away, and rocks were put aside to be re-used in the new garden.
A one-of-a-kind garden made up of a unique collection of granite block stepping stones, recycled railway sleepers, re-purposed rocks from the former garden, a unique gravel blend, carefully chosen maples and cool-climate clumping bamboos, and sculptural elements designed and installed by Vital Greenscapes.
